Vulnerable ERP applications are being increasingly targeted by attackers. ERP systems make an appealing target for hackers , as they run business processes and house the sensitive corporate information, which can be used by Cyber espionage, sabotage, and fraud.
There many sites using different digital shadows and reports warn that nation-state attackers continue to use ERP vulnerabilities as back doors into systems.
Perhaps the most famous example of this is the breach of the United States Information Service ( USIS), which at the time was the biggest commercial provider of background information to the US federal government.
